6th August 2005 Windsurfing: Vass Wind Direction: NW Wind Stength: F3-4 Surf / Sea State: Flat Air Temperature: Warm Sea Temperature: Cool Weather: Overcast Max Speed: Distance Covered: Loads off clouds today so it wasn't looking good for the last day. Surprisingly it turned cross shore at 1 pm but stayed light so I went out with my other half so as she could practice harness and beach starts whilst I played on a coolrider. Later on there were some gusts coming through at F4 and people were planing on big boards with 9.0 m sails so I took out a Skate 111 with a 5.7 Manic. A couple of hours of practice and I was popping the board quite respectably in the gusts but they were short lived. In the lulls I got the hang of sailing in the footstraps off the plane (Geckos maybe?) but it certainly knackers your front arm. The end of another Vass trip but I seem to have got off the plateau again. Well worth it even if the wind doesn't always play. |
